What is National Voter Education Week?

National Voter Education Week (NVEW) is an open-source, nonpartisan voter education campaign held annually during the first full week of October. NVEW equips voters with the tools and information they need to cast their ballots with confidence, serving as a resource hub for leaders of any community and context who want to help their networks make their voices heard at the ballot box. NVEW is a concerted effort of hundreds of partners across different sectors, all working together to support voters.

During this week of interactive education, NVEW partners help eligible voters find their polling location, understand their ballot, make a plan to vote, and more. Since 2020, thousands of local, state, and national partners have worked together to educate millions of voters throughout the country in partnership with NVEW.

Help new voters overcome common barriers!

Today’s generation of new voters is enthusiastic about civic participation and eager to make their voices heard. However, systemic barriers and lack of knowledge often deter them from the voting booth. Voter education bridges the gap between registration and casting a ballot, especially for newly eligible voters, empowering them to navigate the democratic process with confidence. NVEW will help ensure that registered voters actually cast a ballot.
